Software Developer Co-Op

Location:

Ottawa, Ontario  Duration: 16 months (for co-ops) | 8 months+ (for interns, with potential for extension)

** About this opportunity:
** We are seeking a motivated, hardworking co-op student to join our radio verification team working on state-of-the-art multi standard radio equipment. The primary focus of this role is to develop AI/ML techniques that increase productivity and to build automation for radio performance verification of new 4G/5G radio products. This position requires on-site presence in the lab.

* What you will do:

* • Develop test automation software in Java to run and orchestrate performance tests on 4G/5G radio equipment.  
• Implement AI/ML solutions (prototyping and evaluation) to solve engineering problems such as KPI prediction, and test optimization.  
• Experience with Python and ML libraries (scikit-learn, Tensor Flow, PyTorch) for prototyping.  
• Preprocess and analyze measurement data (logs, KPIs, traces); create features and datasets for model training and evaluation.  
• Produce formal documentation for test setups, automation code, and experiment results.  
• Integrate ML models or scripts into existing test pipelines and support their use in the lab.  
• Collaborate with RF engineers and project managers to deliver verification objectives and meet team goals.
** The skills you bring:*
* • Enrolled in a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.  
• Coding experience in Java (highly preferred).  
• Good understanding of AI/ML models and workflows (supervised/unsupervised learning, evaluation metrics).  
• Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken).  
• Good time management, prioritization and problem-solving skills.  
• Willingness and ability to work on site and in the lab.
