Senior Quality Analyst role at Orion Innovation.
Key Responsibilities- Member of the software development team to optimize the software test strategy, test process, and test cases to support the features of the Light Speed system, focusing on testing advanced satellite OBP segment software for high performance, scalability, reliability, and interworking with other segments.
- Define test strategies by considering project requirements, software criticality, and available resources.
- Manage test resources and the ongoing development of the test framework to progress the test campaign, whether on simulated resources or hardware.
- Ensure test documentation across teams, including test cases, test results, test steps, and analysis reports.
- Collaborate with developers, requirements engineers, management, Dev Ops, scrum masters, and product owners. Hands-on testing is expected in the LEO Lab and in simulation for various data path and routing features.
- Coordinate to optimize the whole testing effort and ensure test cases maximize code coverage and meet technical and functional requirements, driven at the Lightspeed system level.
- Architect software solutions that adhere to Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles and utilize simulated software to rigorously test code functionality.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in satellite technology and industry trends, driving innovation and technical excellence.
- Guide the team in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues to ensure the stability and reliability of OBP segment software.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Utilize expertise in cloud technology, virtualization, and containerization to optimize test deployment and management.
- Leverage software modeling tools to create robust and efficient testing architectures.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement to evolve development processes, tools, and methodologies.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of experience with hands-on testing across various technologies, with a minimum of 4 years in software test development for embedded software platforms.
- Direct experience with large system test strategies and implementations spanning a large development organization.
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems). Passion for simulated software testing frameworks and CI/CD.
- Familiarity with formal software testing approaches (requirements analysis, test case definition, test script development, test data review).
- Strong experience and knowledge of Python and Python-based automation frameworks (e.g., Pytest) and working knowledge of C++ (embedded development, networking). Experience with Git or similar version control systems. Experience with cloud technology, virtualization, and containerization. Experience with test management platforms such as Zephyr Scale.
- Understanding of satellite technology, ground segment operations, and related challenges.
- Good understanding of networking and routing protocols.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address complex technical challenges.
- Excellent communication and influence across an organization to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and simulated software testing methodologies.
- Ability to design software with consideration for hardware resource constraints.
- Proponent of Agile development methodologies.
