Our residential construction division at Tomlinson Infrastructure is looking for a skilled labourer. This candidate will work under the supervision of a foreman setting grades, checking elevations, dumping trucks, working with heavy equipment, and have the opportunity to run small equipment on the jobsite.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND

EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to read construction drawings, pull information to set proper grades.
  • Proficient with the operating of a rotating laser level and be able to work with GPS would be an asset
  • Ability to read plans and mathematically inclined to accurately complete many functions of the job
  • Installation of stakes as required for layout purposes
  • Measures distances from reference points to locate boundaries of construction site
  • Ability to work in and implement safe work practices and contribute to a safe work environment
  • Have an understanding of the issues involving ground disturbances
  • Ability to work in and implement safe work practices and contribute to safe work environment.
  • Understanding of fine grading
  • Work as a team with other crew members on daily activities of the jobsite.
  • Ability to grade basements to USF
  • Positive and respectful attitude
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience working on construction sites is considered an asset
  • Ability to lift heavy loads

    • WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Must be able Standing for extended periods of time, bending, crouching, kneeling
  • Work on a construction site.
  • Repetitive tasks
  • Lifting heavy objects in construction of hardscapes.
  • Long hours required, night and weekend work required.
  • Exposure to all elements – snow, cold, rain, heat etc

    • COMPENSATION INFORMATION:

    The expected salary range for this position is $23.00 - $32.00 per hour. Placement within the range is dependant on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience and will be per the collective agreement.
