DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an In-shop diesel technician to join our team in Ottawa.
Cummins offers a 5000$ sign-on bonus for this position.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Apply documented procedures and policies to perform diagnostics and complex repairs.
Perform preventative maintenance based on assessment of engine.
Complete required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims and quality forms, via handwritten or business system input screens.
Complete training in line with skill and business requirements.
Coach and develop technicians and/or apprentices and transfers knowledge and experience to others; may provide work direction; may review repair plans, parts lists, etc.
Maintain work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
Adhere to and ensures adherence of more junior technicians to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
Diploma, Certification, license:
Red seal 310T certification is required for this role.
Locally valid driving permit
Clean drivers abstract
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Good customer relation skills.
Diagnostic, electrical, chassis, and heavyduty engine experience is an asset.
Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
Familiarity with OEM diagnostic software (, INSITE).
Flexibility to attend service calls or support other locations as needed.
Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.

Salary between 38$-43$ hourly to start, depending on experience.
