Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Sales Account Manager to sell fire alarm and life safety systems across an assigned territory. This individual will be responsible for developing new business, managing existing accounts, and working closely with internal engineering, project management, and service teams to deliver compliant, code-driven fire alarm solutions. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience selling fire alarm systems and understands both new construction and retrofit environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of new and existing customers including general contractors, electrical contractors, property managers, and building owners
- Sell fire alarm systems for new construction, tenant fit‑outs, retrofits, and system upgrades
- Identify project opportunities, review drawings, specifications, and sequences of operation
- Prepare accurate proposals, bids, and budgets in coordination with internal estimating and engineering teams
- Serve as the primary point of contact from initial sale through project close‑out
- Attend job site meetings, system walk‑throughs, and customer presentations
- Collaborate with design, programming, and installation teams to ensure system scope and compliance
- Track opportunities, forecasts, and sales activity using CRM tools
- Stay current on NFPA 72
, local fire codes, and AHJ requirements - Meet or exceed assigned sales and revenue targets
Qualifications & Experience
- 3+ years of sales experience within fire alarm systems or life safety industry
- Strong understanding of fire alarm components and systems (panels, devices, notification, voice evacuation, monitoring)
- Experience selling to general contractors, electrical contractors, engineers, and end users
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and fire alarm risers
- Proven success in consultative, technical sales environments
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally
