We are currently seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to work in the area of post‑natal cardiac adaptation and with a specific focus on studying mechanisms/interventions to target heart failure. Specifically, the Postdoctoral fellow will work to advance a novel area of research discovered in the Megeney Research Group, i.e. induction of physiological cardiac hypertrophy as a cardio‑protection strategy. This one‑year fellowship (with the possibility of renewal) offers an exceptional opportunity to work on both basic molecular/cellular biology with significant translation capacity.
BasicRequirements (Education/Experience)
- A PhD completed within the last 3 years in a relevant discipline, such as molecular and/or cellular biology.
- Proven experience in primary cell culture techniques, protein biochemistry.
- Experience in use of viral expression vectors, small animal surgery and omics‑based experimentation and analysis is considered an asset.
- Proven experience in research design, data collection, statistical analysis, and scientific writing and proficiency with statistical and data analysis software.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret and synthesize complex datasets.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience managing multiple priorities and adapting to evolving project needs in a research environment.
- Mentor and provide support to undergraduate and graduate students engaged in related research projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated research excellence, technical proficiency, and the potential to drive independent, high‑impact research.
- This is a 1-year full-time contract.
- Salary: $49,621 Minimum Annual Stipend.
