Overall RequirementsThe QA/QC Specialist ensures that all products, processes, and systems meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves conducting inspections, managing calibration programs, maintaining compliance documentation, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
Responsibilities- Conduct incoming, in‑process, and final inspections on electronic systems and military‑grade cable assemblies for harsh environment applications.
- Complete First Article Inspections (FAI) and collaborate with Operations to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Troubleshoot assembly and product quality issues, accurately document non‑conformances, and categorize failures for analysis.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality systems, procedures, and documentation in alignment with ISO 9001:2015 and internal standards.
- Maintain compliance documentation to meet regulatory, customer, and internal requirements.
- Serve as a key contributor during internal and external audits, ensuring readiness of records and supporting corrective actions.
- Coordinate and oversee calibration and ESD compliance activities to ensure adherence to company and industry standards.
- Perform calibration and qualification testing on workbenches, tools, and test equipment to verify accuracy and functionality.
- Investigate non‑conformances, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Collaborate with Engineering on NPI (New Product Introduction) initiatives to provide quality input.
- Determine quality‑related training needs and deliver training to staff, promoting a culture of quality awareness.
- Assist with provision of quality and environmental metrics against defined parameters.
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, or related field and/or
- 3+ years of experience in quality control within a manufacturing organization
Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience using common handheld inspection instruments
- Proficiency in ISO 9001 environment and internal auditing
- Experience with data trending, final inspections, and reporting to support continuous improvement
- Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies, including root cause analysis, CAPA, audits, and trend analysis
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Internal ISO Auditor Qualification and/or Certification is an asset
- Experienced with IPC
610/IPC
620 – Trainer accreditation is an asset - Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen training considered an asset
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and self‑motivated, with strong time management skills
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to train, lead, and motivate others while collaborating effectively across teams and with customers
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
