Capital City Specialty & Emergency is Ottawa’s newest state of the art animal hospital! Opened in Spring 2023, Capital City is growing our team of over 100 veterinary professionals to provide outstanding patient care and client service. Our team includes world-renown specialists working with top-of-the-line equipment to provide an exceptional experience. Capital City is currently looking for an experienced, professional, and collaborative veterinary assistant to join our team. Duties and responsibilities in this role will include both medical and client service elements, including but not limited to:

• Assisting veterinarians and technicians with patient care
• Completing treatments for patients
• Preparing for and facilitating surgeries and procedures
• Replenishing hospital supplies
• Preparing prescriptions
• Providing assistance to clients in person
• Invoicing clients and taking payments
• Communicating with referring veterinarians
• Communicating with various team members within the hospital
• Cleaning and organizing all hospital spaces
• Providing brief patient assessment
• Completing aftercare paperwork
• Managing patient files and digital documents

We offer a salary of $19.10+ per hour and various job types including Full-time, Part-Time, and Permanent positions.
