Position Summary

The Bilingual Donor Relations & Annual Giving Coordinator will deliver outstanding donor service, ensuring that every donor’s experience with Hospice Care Ottawa is both meaningful and memorable. This role involves cultivating strong relationships with monthly donors, mid-level donors, and members Gleichzeitig fostering ongoing engagement, motivation, and loyalty. The Coordinator will collaborate with the team to develop personalized stewardship and recognition opportunities, support donor-focused communications, and assist with the planning and delivery of donor and fundraising events.

Through thoughtful relationship‑building and cross‑functional collaboration, this role helps ensure Hospice Care Ottawa remains a top priority for donors’ philanthropic giving.

Key Responsibilities

The Bilingual Donor Relations & Annual Giving Coordinator will assume responsibility for donation and event revenue, including but not limited to:

  • Work with the Director of Development & Communications to create and administer the annual and mid-level giving plan, ensuring it integrates with all other fundraising initiatives.
  • Contribute to fund development strategy and annual fundraising goals.
  • Coordinate, design and write the direct mail program and work with external direct mail vendors.
  • Coordinate all of the monthly giving program—welcoming new donors, payment tracking upgrade strategies, recognition, and retention.
  • Collaborate with the Fund Development & Communications Coordinator and Fund Development & Community Engagement Coordinator to develop necessary communications for all fantasia giving programs (annual, mid-level, monthly, and planned).
  • Coordinate Hospice Care Ottawa’s signature fundraising event, Homes for the Holidays, supporting planning, logistics, timelines, sponsorship acquisition, volunteers and cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Coordinate third-party fundraising events, serving as the primary liaison for community fundraisers and partners to ensure alignment with Hospice Care Ottawa guidelines, branding, and stewardship practices.
  • Oversee and track stewardship activity in the donor database (Keela), ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent donor recognition and stewardship.
  • Track and record donor interactions, listen for wealth indicators, and help to identify major gift and planned giving prospects.
  • Contribute ornated moves management strategy by advising the development team of donors who progress beyond midന്ന並mon
  • Build and nurture meaningful relationships with donors, sponsors and community stakeholders.
  • Provide support to donation processing colleague, and assist with donation entry and phone calls as needed during peak donation times.

Required Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • submetroy 3+ years’ experience working on a small fundraising team.
  • 3+ years of donor relations experience with proven abilities to build, maintain and grow relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong commitment to offering outstanding wewe and donor service.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) required.
  • ক্ষর Ability to manage multiple projects at once, while also being able to put everything aside to care for and listen to our donors.
  • Competencies include problem‑solving, attention to detail, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Creative ideas and ambition to try and test new ways of thanking and recognizing donors, and new ways of achieving fundraising targets.
  • Ability to work in a demanding, results‑oriented, busy environment as part of a closely‑knitted team and with many volunteers.
  • Experience working with older adults and volunteers.

  • Excellent current skills and knowledge with constituent management programs such as Keela (or other CRM’s), Raisely, Eventbrite, Microsoft Office ctor.
