About The Opportunity

We have the privilege of working with a mid-sized Crown Corporation to secure a Senior Communications Professional with experience in media relations, digital communications, and stakeholder engagement. This role would see the successful candidate serve as a primary spokesperson for the organization together with representing the organization with critical stakeholders.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Develops and maintain strong working relationships with media, stakeholder and industry counterparts
• Contributes to the organization’s solid reputation with proactive communications regarding organizational priorities, representing the organization in all media channels
• Plans, coordinates and supports all media interactions, acting as the organization’s first point of contact and official spokesperson
• Develops an annual digital communications strategy, including social media, paid advertising, and digital engagement initiatives
• Provides media relations training to the organization’s representatives
• Evaluates the effectiveness of communications initiatives using analytics and performance metrics to inform continuous improvement
• Researches and writes a variety of communication products, including news releases, media lines, Q & A’s, backgrounders, and articles

About You

• Post secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field
• A minimum of five to seven years in strategic communications and/or media relations
• Expertise in developing communication strategies, delivering messages to diverse audiences, and managing crisis communications, media pitching, and public relations
• Strong knowledge of traditional and digital media channels, trends and emerging best practices
• Superior understanding of communications principles, tools, and best practices, particularly in media relations, social media, and issues/crisis management
• Experience providing credible strategic advice to senior leadership with a focus on issues management and complex problem resolution
• Experience managing sensitive communications with tact and diplomacy
• Understanding of emerging AI technologies and their application in strategic communications and public engagement
• Exceptional communication skills in both official languages, including public speaking, storytelling, copywriting, and editing with strong adherence to style guides and grammar
• The ability to travel quarterly within Canada

About the Job

This position is a full-time/permanent position, offering an annual salary of between $95,000-$110,000 with annual bonus, exceptional benefits and pension contribution. The client offers a hybrid work environment that would see you in office weekly and is conveniently located downtown.
