Production Technician

. Based in Ottawa, Ontario, the Production Technician will report to the Team Lead, Test Manufacturing or Team Lead, Sensory Assembly and will have a wide range of duties which ultimately focus on the manufacturing of products in accordance to established quality standards.
Gastops has built a robust business recognized worldwide for its innovative contributions to equipment health management in the aviation, energy, marine, industrial and transportation industries. We design, manufacture and support advanced equipment sensing and analysis products, including on-line oil debris sensors, torque measurement sensors, turbine blade health sensors, and at-line oil analysis systems.
What you’ll do and how you’ll contribute to on-time product delivery are described below.
What You’ll Do- Read and interpret work instructions and drawings for assemblies
- Assemble harnesses, mechanical and optical components
- Solder PCB assemblies
- Manufacture product sub-assemblies
- Manufacture sensor assemblies
- Configure Microsoft Windows and ChipCHECK software
- Test and verify completed ChipCHECK systems as per ATP process
- Use internal EPICOR systems to document and record builds, configurations and testing
- Provide recommendations for improvement on Work Instructions
- Assist in troubleshooting ChipCHECK units
- Support mechanical assemblies
- Document and record build, configurations and testing in internal systems

- Mechanically inclined and well versed in mechanical assembly
- Hold a current IPC certification
- Competent soldering skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Seeks clarification when needed to understand a problem better
- Excellent ability to work in accordance with established processes
- A team player who works well in a dynamic environment
- Experience with optical and laser device assemblies is a plus
- Ability to understand and follow approved testing work instructions
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools (torque wrench, screwdrivers, Allen keys, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high quality
- Ability to work with other team members
The ideal candidate will have a Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical or Electro-mechanical program, and should have:
- High motivation with results-oriented focus
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) — English essential
- Eligibility to obtain a Security Clearance (NATO Level Clearance and ITAR)
