We are seeking an experienced and collaborative leader to join our People and Culture division as Manager, Disability Management Programs - Quality, Planning and Programs
. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Employee Health, Safety and Wellness, this role provides leadership and oversight for the organization's disability management and return to work programs. The Manager leads a team responsible for delivering disability management and return to work services while ensuring programs operate effectively and align with legislative requirements, collective agreements, and organizational priorities.
A key focus of this role is the design, development, evaluation, and continuous improvement of disability management programs and initiatives. The Manager is responsible for strengthening program effectiveness through the development of metrics, reporting frameworks, and quality assurance processes. Working closely with internal stakeholders, the role ensures programs reflect best practices, support psychological health and safety, and position the organization as a leader in disability management while advancing the company's strategic priorities.

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines working remotely and in our offices based on the operational needs of the position. In this role, you will work primarily from our Richmond Office with some flexibility to work from your home in B.C.
What you'll do- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the organization's disability management and return to work programs, including oversight of the Employee and Family Assistance Program.
- Lead the design, development, evaluation, and continuous improvement of WorkSafeBC's disability management programs, initiatives, metrics, reporting frameworks, and quality assurance processes.
- Provide expert guidance and oversight on complex disability management matters, including long‑term disability, workplace accommodation, return to work planning, and human rights considerations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team responsible for disability management services, fostering a collaborative, high‑performing, and service‑oriented environment.
- Partner with leaders and internal stakeholders to advance initiatives that support employee health, well‑being, and psychological health and safety.
- Contribute to divisional planning and People and Culture initiatives, ensuring programs align with legislative requirements, collective agreements, best practices, and WorkSafeBC's strategic priorities.
- Consistently model the appropriate level of organizational behaviours expected of all WorkSafeBC employees: responsive, respectful, fair, collaborative, accountable, and forward‑thinking.
- Provide confident leadership and strategic direction while building and supporting a high‑performing team.
- Lead program design and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen disability management outcomes and service quality.
- Apply sound judgement and discretion when navigating complex, sensitive, or high‑impact disability management matters.
- Build trusted partnerships with leaders, employees, and stakeholders to support effective return to work and employee well‑being.
- Use data, metrics, and reporting to inform decision‑making and drive program effectiveness and accountability.
- Communicate with clarity and influence across a range of audiences while handling confidential matters with professionalism and integrity.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related discipline, i.e., Health Sciences, Occupational Rehabilitation, Business Administration.
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive leadership experience in disability management, return to work, or employee health and wellness programs, typically gained over five or more years in Human Resources or a related field.
- Demonstrated people leadership experience, with the ability to lead, develop, and support a high‑performing team in a complex and service‑oriented environment.
