We acknowledge that the work of Canadian Blood Services spans many Territories and Treaty areas across the country, and we are grateful for the Traditional Knowledge Keepers and Elders who have guided us in this important work. The Inclusion, Sustainability and Engagement team works to ensure Canadian Blood Services is a leader in inclusion, sustainability and engagement, best positioning us to be prepared for the ever changing present and future. - Centre Indigenous ways of knowing alongside organizational priorities, cultivate trust‑based, distinctions‑informed relationships with First Nations, Inuit and Métis partners.
- Translate progress and insights into clear reports for executive leadership and the Board.
- Lead RAP governance processes, including performance measurement, enterprise reporting cycles, risk escalation, and Board/EMT‑facing updates.
- Ensure reconciliation principles are embedded as a system‑wide driver of culture change, operational practices and strategic planning.
- Treat the Reconciliation Action Plan as a living document, evolving and reflecting the organization’s truth and reconciliation journey.
- Regularly convene Indigenous partners, Canadian Blood Services’ leaders and frontline teams to assess progress, surface new priorities and refresh critical focus areas. Lead scheduled (e.g., annual) reviews that weave community feedback, Indigenous ways of knowing and organisational learning into updated commitments, ensuring the RAP always mirrors the reconciliation journey and future direction.
