Starting Salary Range: $126,300 - $141,000 annually (commensurate upon related skills and experience)

Position Description

WWF-Canada’s Vice President (VP), Marketing leads a team of marketing professionals focused on audience acquisition and donor pipeline generation, building the systems and processes that convert awareness to sustained support for WWF-Canada. This role establishes data-driven decision making and continuous improvement through testing, optimizes cost-per-lead across channels and partners closely with the Community Giving team to deliver quality leads who become committed supporters.

The VP creates the infrastructure and team capabilities that enable WWF-Canada to grow its donor base efficiently and predictably at scale.

The VP is a member of the divisional leadership team and participates in organizational decision making and is also part of WWF-Canada’s leadership group. This role is critical to advancing Regenerate Canada -- WWF-Canada’s ambitious 10-year plan to restore and protect wildlife habitat, advance nature-based climate solutions, and mobilize millions of Canadians to take action for nature.

The VP models data-driven decision making, collaborative cross-functional partnership and people-centered management. This role demonstrates how to balance creative intuition with analytical rigour. They uphold WWF-Canada’s commitments to ethical fundraising practices, donor privacy, equity and inclusion in campaign creative and audience targeting, respectful representation of Indigenous-led conservation work, and responsible stewardship of donor-contributed funds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies aligned with strategic goals and organizational priorities.
  • Set team objectives, KPIs and performance targets for acquisition, conversion and supporter growth.
  • Contribute marketing expertise to organizational strategic planning and budgeting processes.
  • Identify market trends, audience insights and competitive intelligence to inform strategy.
  • Recruit, hire and onboard marketing team members to add to the high-performing team.
  • Lead performance management, coaching and development for direct reports.
  • Build team capabilities through training, mentorship and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster collaborative, high-performance team culture focused on results, testing and continuous improvement.
  • Own cost-per-lead metrics and optimize acquisition efficiency across all channels.
  • Develop and execute multi-channel acquisition campaigns including digital advertising, paid media, content marketing and email.
  • Monitor and optimize conversion rates throughout the donor journey from awareness to first gift to monthly donor.
  • Analyze campaign performance and adjust tactics based on data insights.
  • Partner closely with Community Giving department and Development division to optimize donor journeys.
  • Collaborate with Conservation division to translate program priorities into compelling, authentic marketing campaigns.
  • Work with the Communications team to ensure brand consistency across all channels.
  • Build and maintain marketing analytics infrastructure, dashboards and reporting systems.
  • Generate regular reports for senior leadership demonstrating marketing ROI.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, agencies and technology partners.
  • Develop and manage annual marketing budget, allocating resources based on performance data and strategic priorities, monitoring spending continuously to ensure marketing investments deliver strong, measurable ROI.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors, agencies and media partners to maximize value.
  • Provide strategic direction for brand positioning and messaging that drives acquisition.
