Manager – Tax Global Compliance and Reporting

As a Tax Operations Senior, you will be a part of our Global Compliance & Reporting (GCR) group. In this role, you will develop the technical proficiency and connectivity to address client issues as well as develop as a well‑rounded, quality‑focused tax professional. As a member of EY’s Business Tax Service practice, you will develop the combination of deep tax knowledge and a sophisticated understanding of business drivers to serve your clients to the best of your ability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Global delivery of end‑to‑end GCR contracts including data gathering, tax accounting, tax compliance, and tax controversy.
  • Supporting the full engagement life cycle of global record‑to‑report managed services engagement, including:
    • Solution design and scoping
    • Project management of implementation including mobilizing global cross‑functional teams
    • Service management of delivery to client
    • Commercial management of contract, billing and change management
    • Technology deployment and maintenance
    • Managing data operations and data analytics
    • Deliver value by sharing global accounting and tax developments, insights and market trends
    • Support a number of GCR contracts, some with client interface and some in a supervisory service delivery role
    • Focus on the successful delivery of projects, ensuring technical excellence and practical/business approach taken
    • Developing and maintaining relationships with key contract stakeholders (internal and external) across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring effective and timely communication

  • Mobilizing global delivery capability and standardized process implementation
  • Managing the operating governance structure and reporting protocols including ongoing service management and commercial management
  • Managing technology/workflow with information from each service line to provide consolidated view
  • Monitoring progress, managing risk, maximizing operational efficiencies and making sure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes
  • Review and suggestion improvements to compliance and reporting processes considering data sources, hand‑off points and controls
To qualify for the role you must have
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills, strong problem‑solving ability, attention to detail and entrepreneurial approach to work
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to capture and synthesize business requirements
  • Strong proficiency and a high level of comfort working with new and emerging technologies
  • Ability to lead global virtual and on‑site teams, mentor counselees and manage client‑serving business
  • Proven project management skills, ability to plan and prioritise work, meet deadlines, monitor own budget. PMP qualification or similar beneficial
  • Experience of working on international projects
  • Process and technology design skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and minimum of five years of related work experience (e.g., accounting firm, international or regional tax experience)
Ideally, you’ll also have
  • Professionalism through a positive and cooperative attitude and maintaining confidentiality and proprietary nature of client relationships
  • Experience working on multi‑jurisdictional projects
  • Ownership of tasks and proper judgment to make critical decisions
  • Strong ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines
