They are seeking a polished finance professional to join their dynamic team as a full-time, permanent Accounting Manager.
Location:
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Salary: CA $80,000.00-CA $90,000.00.
As Accounting Manager, you will oversee the organization’s financial operations and direct all accounting functions, including establishing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures, as well as preparing financial statements and reporting to senior leadership. You are a critical thinker and persuasive communicator, energetic and results-driven. You lead with a positive, hands-on approach, inspiring your team by example. Reporting to the President, you will:
Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, develop, and support the finance team
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including journal entries, payroll, AP/AR, and statutory reporting
- Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Lead the year-end audit and ensure accurate preparation of audited financial statements
- Manage capital assets, tracking, reconciliation and other financial controls
- Collaborate with operations and sales to improve processes, support system implementation, and optimize pricing, costing and margins
- Guide financial systems, reporting and data analysis to support informed decision-making
- Monitor performance against budgets and deliver timely ad hoc reporting to support evolving business priorities
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures and internal controls
- Perform ad hoc duties as required
Qualifications:
- University degree in business/accounting
- 4+ years progressive experience, with management experience
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong leadership with the ability to motivate teams and manage projects under tight deadlines
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Effective communication, presentation, and organizational skills
- Previous experience with Business Central (Dynamics) is considered an asset
What’s the Bottom Line:
- $90,000 - $95,000 salary range
