Janitorial SupervisorCleaner

Responsibilities

• Supervise 4 other janitorial team members
• Develop and maintain cleaning schedules/checklists and ensure that they are followed by the janitorial team
• Conduct regular inspections of the facility to ensure that all areas are clean and well‑maintained
• Order and track cleaning supplies
• Train janitorial staff in proper cleaning techniques and safety procedures
• Maintain accurate records of cleaning logs
• Assist in hiring/terminating
• Perform daily cleaning tasks according to schedule
• Clean and sanitize surfaces, floors, offices, meeting rooms and washrooms
• Vacuum office space and furniture
• Carry out waste collection and disposal in accordance with facility standards
• Provide occasional coverage for mailroom clerk
• Additional tasks/duties as required

• Proficient in English both reading and writing
• At least 3 years of experience in janitorial or custodial work with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, managers and other stakeholders
• Ability to work independently
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with janitorial work
