Senior Program Manager

Duration: 1-year contract with possibility of extension or conversion based on business needs and performance

The Senior Program Manager will plan, manage, and deliver distinct programs with a high level of risk exposure through all specific phases in alignment with business and/or enterprise strategies. This role sits within the P&T Delivery Practice, established to lead Project Management professionals as they work with delivery teams on projects and programs that build the capabilities, systems, and processes required for best‑in‑class operations across the Client Enterprise.

You will work in a highly collaborative environment with teams of 30-40 people, managing multiple complex technology initiatives simultaneously. This is a backfill position offering long‑term potential within Client's positive work environment with strong project support infrastructure.

• Indirectly manage program teams consisting of Business Analysts, Business SMEs, and technology resources under PDLC, Agile, or hybrid project & resource management frameworks
• Engage Executive Sponsors, senior leadership, and key stakeholder groups to ensure effective, efficient, and compliant delivery of programs
• Establish effective program oversight, governance structures, and protocols with appropriate stakeholder engagement
• Provide ongoing communication to Program Sponsors, Business Program Owners, and Portfolio Managers regarding significant program status changes
• Respond to inquiries and escalate concerns from stakeholders at all levels (technical, business, Senior and Executive Management)
• Provide guidance on program management best practices to business partners and program teams
• Collaborate with partners to ensure resource assignment for successful program delivery
• Generate cost estimates and provide program financial management, incorporating risk through appropriate tools and templates
• Proactively identify, track, and develop mitigation plans for program risks
• Accurately forecast and manage assigned budgets with monthly financial reporting per Finance standards
• Support vendor management, strategic sourcing processes, and RFP activities
• Apply Client principles of program management life cycle methodologies, governance, tools, and best practices
• Spend 2+ hours daily in meetings with internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure all projects remain compliant with internal governance standards

• 10+ years of Program Management experience
• Experience leading teams of Project Managers
• Proven track record leading multiple complex technology project deliverables in parallel with large multi‑million dollar budgets
• Big bank or financial institution experience (mandatory)
• Experience delivering with compliance to internal governance standards

• Experience leading teams of Project Managers

• Strong understanding of internal governance and compliance standards
• Big bank/financial services industry experience
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Executive stakeholder management

  Experience using MS Office Suite, Jira, Confluence, and Clarity (preferred)
• PMP and/or Scaled Agile certifications (preferred)
• Regulatory Delivery experience (preferred)
• Complex Data Project experience (preferred)

• Post‑secondary education preferred (work experience considered equally important)
• PMP or Scaled Agile certifications considered an asset
