The Situation

Next Room is a student housing platform startup that consistently reaches over 150,000 monthly impressions. To date, the project has been founder-funded. We have moved past the proof‑of‑concept phase and are now building the “Next Room Bridge”—a middleware infrastructure that syndicates real‑time property management data (Yardi/Entrata) to major marketplaces like Facebook.

This is a Co‑Founder position. You will be responsible for the technical roadmap and the execution of our core products:

• Next Room Bridge: Developing the API logic to synchronize property management systems with external ILS platforms.
• Virtual Leasing Agent: Architecting an AI‑driven communication layer to automate lead qualification.
• Infrastructure Management: Overseeing our GCP environment and maintaining our proprietary data collection systems.

• Recent graduate or final‑year student in Computer Science or Software Engineering, ideally from uOttawa or Carleton.
• Proficiency in Python, Node.js, and cloud infrastructure (GCP).
• Experience with API integrations and web automation.
• A founder’s mindset:
  You prioritize solving the problem over following a syllabus.

This is an equity‑only role (15% – 25%) until our seed round is secured. A standard vesting schedule with a one‑year cliff will apply to ensure long‑term alignment.
