Summer Student - Program Development

Looking for a summer role where you’ll do more than observe from the sidelines?

WiLAN is hiring a driven and organized summer student to join our Program Development team. This is a hands‑on opportunity to gain experience in AI workflow optimization, data analysis, and intellectual property strategy — the kind of experience that stands out on a resume.

This is not a “coffee‑run” position. You will be trusted with meaningful projects and expected to contribute thoughtfully and professionally.

• Conducting research and analysis related to intellectual property and innovation
• Assisting with AI-enabled workflow optimization and prompt development
• Organizing and analyzing data to support strategic decision-making
• Maintaining accurate records within program databases and CRM systems
• Contributing to innovation and commercialization coordination activities
• Gaining exposure to patent strategy and technology licensing processes

• A student with experience in AI prompt creation and/or data management
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Curiosity, particularly in intellectual property, patents, or licensing
• A responsible, professional approach to deadlines and confidentiality
• Strong written communication skills

• Practical experience applying AI tools in a professional setting
• Exposure to intellectual property management and patent strategy
• Insight into how innovation moves from concept to commercialization
• Resume-worthy experience grounded in real responsibility

• Compensation: $27 per hour
