Technical Program Manager – Mobile Features OverviewThe Technical Program Manager (TPM), Mobile Features is responsible for driving execution, delivery, and delivery confidence for mobile feature teams across iOS and Android. This role sits within PTD (Product, Technology, Design) and serves as the program lead for multiple mobile feature teams aligned to a mission or goal area.
This role owns what ships and why on mobile, translating product goals into coordinated, cross‑platform execution. They may work with multiple pods to coordinate dependencies across mobile pods, or with teams outside of the mobile team (e.g. Stellar, PSDK, platforms). It does not own mobile platform infrastructure or long‑term technical strategy.
Scope of Responsibility1. Mobile Feature Program Leadership (PTD)
Act as the primary TPM partner for 2–3 mobile feature teams, spanning:
- iOS and Android feature development
- Cross‑functional collaboration with Product and Design
- Backend and platform dependencies as required
Own planning, sequencing, and delivery of mobile feature work from concept through launch.
Ensure feature parity and consistency across iOS and Android experiences (when required).
2. Delivery Planning & Risk ManagementOwn delivery confidence for mobile feature work by:
- Translating mission goals into executable delivery plans
- Mapping dependencies with Platform, Backend, and other teams
- Surfacing risks, trade‑offs, and scope decisions early
Act as the requester and coordinator for platform support, working through the Mobile Platform TPM.
3. Cross-Team CoordinationCoordinate across product, engineering, and design to:
- Align scope, timelines, and expectations
- Ensure launch readiness and post‑launch stability
- Communicate progress and delivery confidence to stakeholders
Maintain a clear narrative of feature development and what is shipping, when, and why.
4. Execution Health & Operating RhythmEstablish and run feature‑level operating rhythms, including:
- Planning and sequencing checkpoints
- Delivery confidence and risk reviews
- Launch readiness reviews for major features
Keep teams focused on outcomes, not just output.
Explicitly Out of ScopeThis role does not:
- Own the mobile platform roadmap or infrastructure
- Run CI/CD, build systems, or release tooling
- Define long‑term mobile technical standards
- Serve as an accountability layer for non‑PTD teams
The TPM is responsible for feature delivery and execution within PTD, not platform health.
What Success Looks Like- Mobile features ship predictably with clear goal impact
- iOS and Android delivery is coordinated and aligned
- Dependencies are managed without last‑minute escalation
- Stakeholders trust delivery forecasts and execution status
- Reports into the PTD organization through the relevant Mission
- Partners closely with Product, Design, and Engineering leads
- Interfaces with the Mobile Platform TPM through defined dependency contracts
