Information Technology Infrastructure Specialist

Akkodis is currently searching for an IT Infrastructure Specialist in the Ottawa region to design and plan a critical upgrade for the Storage Services and Infrastructure of a GoC client.

• Liaise with departmental technical groups and integration teams and be prepared to provide expert written and/or verbal advice.
• Analyze the integrity of system architecture, hardware, servers, operating systems, and application software relating to enterprise server storage infrastructure.
• Evaluate hardware and software relative to their ability to support specified requirements by determining potential and actual bottlenecks, in order to improve system performance through recommended hardware changes.
• Assist in implementing solutions in coordination with relevant stakeholders in production core and hosting environments.
• Assist in resolving incident and/or problems for the Enterprise Storage Services that have been escalated.
• Produce and deliver the design, test plan, and implementation of the upgrades.

• Must be able to work on-site in Ottawa region.
• PSPC Level 2 Secret Security Clearance.
• University or college degree/diploma in an technology related discipline.
• Extensive experience working in classified networks on classified or command and control IT systems.
• Extensive experience utilizing SAN concepts and technologies on a server, using server-side administration tools.
• Extensive experience providing 2nd or 3rd line support for enterprise storage systems with thousands of users.
• Extensive experience designing, reviewing, and developing technical documentation.
• Experience with Hitachi storage technology would be considered an asset.
• All candidates must possess a current and valid federal government security clearance at the level of Secret.
