Desktop Specialist Job Ottawa area,Ontario Canada,IT/Tech

Description

Provides day-to-day technical support to employees for network infrastructure and internal systems software and hardware.

Installs, configures and troubleshoots desktop systems, workstations, servers and network issues in a diverse environment.

Maintains passwords, data integrity and file system security for the desktop environment.

Communicates highly technical information to both technical and nontechnical personnel.

Recommends hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades.

May participate in development of information technology and infrastructure projects.

May conduct training programs designed to educate an organization’s computer users about basic and specialized applications.

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

Job Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent required;

Able to fully assemble computers

Knowledge of PC hardware and software systems.

Knowledge of common operating systems.

Knowledge of current hardware and software trends in the industry.

Ability to utilize strong analytical skills and problem solving methods.

Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing and to write concise and clear reports.

Must have strong English language skills - written and verbal

Must be able to demonstrate technical problem solving skills
