Description
We are seeking a skilled Systems Integration Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for documenting integration plans, working with Production and PMO to capture customizations in builds and deployments and integrating various hardware and software components to ensure seamless functionality within complex systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Install and configure system components (hardware and software).Integrate and install JSI systems and products.Perform initial diagnostics and testing of hardware, software, and network issues.Diagnose and repair product issues encountered during builds and installations.Troubleshoot and repair hardware (e.g., replace hard disks, power supplies, UPS batteries, printer maintenance).Troubleshoot and repair software (e.g., correct installation or configuration problems).Document and escalate technical issues (hardware, software, network, database) to the appropriate technical support.Understand and anticipate client needs, providing timely solutions to build and sustain positive client relationships.Maintain a high level of product knowledge and the ability to explain complex concepts.Remain calm, polite, tactful, and succinct at all times.Submit comprehensive trip report dashboards daily to identify problem areas.Document detailed Technical Implementation Plans.Update documentation of build and deployment procedures.Required Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Computer Science or related field.2+ years Server and Desktop PC technical support experience within a LAN/WAN environment.Proven ability to troubleshoot OEM hardware appliances.Understanding of relational databases (MS SQL Server is an asset), Backup Solutions, Web Servers, Web Application Servers.Understanding of networking and power and cooling requirements.Experience with documenting procedures.Experience with racking equipment and following cable management plans.VMware vSphere:
Certified or familiar with Install, Configure, Manage V7 & V8Microsoft Server - MCSE Certified or comfortable with 2019/2022Microsoft Windows 10/11 - MCSA Certified preferredLinux System Administration Level 1 or better CertifiedCisco CCNA certification preferred but familiar with Cisco switching and ASA’s at minimumExperience with Dell and Dell EMC Hardware – Optiplex, Power Edge, ME4, Unity and Isilon storage solutions.Additional Requirements and Attributes:
Must qualify for and maintain Canadian Government Top Secret level clearance.Must be able to travel.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong listening and interpretive skills to facilitate leadership and maintain effective customer relationships.High degree of tenacity and persistence to complete tasks on schedule.Extremely motivated with strong analytical skills.Strong understanding of deadlines and commitment to schedules; performs well under pressure.Ability to multi-task and quickly tackle new challenges as they arise.Exceptional attention to detail.Must understand and embrace the need for clear and accurate documentation.Established ability with Microsoft Operating Systems, Active Directory, Group Policies, and permissions in a distributed environment.Excellent applied creativity and innovation.A team player – able to share knowledge, mentor, and work with both internal and external teams.Eligible for Top Secret level security clearance.Work Environment:
Installation will require system components to be physically installed, occasional heavy lifting up to 30kg.Requires high level of concentration.Domestic and/or International travel may be as much as 40%.Working hours may vary depending on projects and customer locations.How We Work
You will be expected to work in a remote/hybrid environment reporting to our Kanata, Ontario location 2 or more times per week.
