Position

Information

The PACS Lead will work collaboratively with program members, providing leadership and supervision to ensure that the day-to-day operations of the program are running effectively and efficiently. Specifically, the PACS Lead will ensure that PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) is running smoothly for internal and external customers. This role is critical to support clinical staff by maintaining integrity, accessibility, security, and quality of medical imaging data.

The PACS Lead acts as the key liaison between radiology departments, IT support, and other clinical teams to facilitate efficient and effective use of the PACS system for patient care.

Within their own team, the PACS Lead applies learning and accountability consistent with a just culture, provides staff with written instructions on safety precautions where appropriate, ensures that staff adhere to standards of safe work and patient care, and closes the loop on staff and patient safety issues to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Rotation/Shifts

Days, 8-hour shifts.

What You Bring
  • 2-year College diploma in the area of Information systems/information technology (IS/IT) related field
  • Seven (7) years of experience in a health-care setting working in a large hospital environment
  • Five (5) years of experience in working with technical systems/solutions (software and hardware)
  • Five (5) years of experience in technical guidance/implementation, project coordination/facilitation/management/systems implementation
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of medical imaging processes, clinical operations
  • Experience in computer software packages such as Word, Excel, SMS, OACIS, etc.
  • Knowledge of IT network and database management
  • Experience in data preparation and management (e.g., organizing, storing, maintaining and ensuring the quality and security of data – data governance, data storage and architecture, data backup and recovery, accessibility and availability, reporting and visualization)
  • Experience in organizational, project management and project implementation skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving, time management
  • Advanced computer skills and knowledge of Health Care Imaging Related systems such as HIS (Epic), PACS, Voice Recognition hardware/software and Radiology Information Systems (RIS) architectural designs
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills including stakeholder management with internal and external stakeholders and regional partners
  • Experience leadership skills/staff supervisory skills
  • Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project and Excel
