The Network Infrastructure Optics NMS Technical Support team provides front-line support for NOKIA's Fiber Transmission Network Management platform serving telecom carriers and MSO high-speed transport infrastructure.
Working directly with customers in addition to investigative work behind the scenes using NOKIA's labs and available operational and functional knowledge base.
Education RecommendationsCurrently a candidate for a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field with an accredited school in Canada.
Qualifications- Knowledge of Server Hardware, HP Unix, and Red Hat Linux
- Knowledge of Virtual Machines
- Good communication skills and a desire to learn
- General knowledge of scripting languages like Python, Bash/Shell, etc.
- General knowledge of Optical and IP networking
- Ability to test, diagnose, and troubleshoot technical issues
As part of the team, you will:
- Contribute to server and virtual machine deployments.
- Testbed design and setup using a combination of simulators and real equipment.
- Prepare demos and proof of concept configurations.
- Gain exposure to end-to-end optical networking architectures.
- Learn how networks are managed in terms of operations, administration, maintenance, and provisioning.
