We are currently recruiting a Scholarships Selection Officer, responsible for providing program support to the Scholarship Partners Canada team, including reporting on programs, database maintenance and selection committee coordination.

Technical responsibilities
  • Providing first line of technical support on navigating the scholarship management system to selection committee members, and documenting issues for escalation;
  • monitoring scholarship management system feedback from team members, sponsors, reviewers and students to identify issues, suggesting and developing ways to improve the user experience;
  • actively participating with scholarship management system technical team to help respond to issues and develop new requirements;
  • supporting SPC staff in the preparation of reports for clients using the SPC database, as requested.
Selection committee responsibilities
  • Managing assigned scholarship program tasks within required timelines, balancing multiple deliverables during peak periods;
  • Reviewing selection requirements of scholarship programs and verifying which selection process is required;
  • defining profile of the required selection committee members, recruiting, and training committee members;
  • setting up selection committee member access and assigning applications within the scholarship management system in alignment with program criteria;
  • facilitating selection committee meetings;
  • drafting and maintaining documentation related to selection committee processes;
  • coordinating the preparation of information packages to selection committee members;
  • coordinating meeting logistics and draft minutes and meeting records.
Qualifications
  • A college diploma or an undergraduate degree, preferably in a business-related or social science discipline;
  • Two to three years of relevant experience;
  • Knowledge of the Canadian education institutions and programs;
  • Fundamental knowledge of administrative processes and practices;
  • Experience in processing a large volume of files;
  • Exceptional oral, and written communication skills, in both official languages;
  • Strong analytical, administrative, and organizational skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure and to meet firm deadlines;
  • Strong computer skills, experience with Office tools and with databases and reporting;
  • Diplomacy, judgment, initiative, and discretion.

The position is based in Ottawa. Universities Canada has adopted a hybrid work model where employees are expected to work in the office a minimum of two days per week.

The hiring range for this position is $58,452 to $70,000; with the ability to progress to a maximum of $ 80,372. To ensure fair and equitable pay at Universities Canada, placement on the salary range will be based on years of experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the position. Candidates who do not meet all of the position requirements may be considered in an underfill capacity, in which case the candidate would be hired at a lower level than the position level.
