Reporting to the Senior Manager, Employee Relations and Total Compensation, the Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies, programs, and policies that support effective employee relations. The incumbent leads a team focused on health, safety and employee wellbeing, and is directly responsible for the day-to-day delivery of labour relations services. This role provides expert advice and guidance to management, ensuring alignment with legislative requirements, terms and conditions of employment, and organizational priorities.
EssentialQualifications Education
University degree with specialization in the field of Human Resources, Industrial Relations or in a related discipline or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience related to the position.
ExperienceA minimum of five (5) years of experience in each of the following criteria;
- Organizing and developing a full range of HR services to clients.
- Providing advice and guidance on Labour Relations matters in adherence with relevant collective agreement, policies and legislation.
- Applying analytical as well as developing and recommending strategies on a variety of HR matters.
- ing and implementing policies, programs and frameworks.
- Labour relations trends, legislation, policies and practices.
- Federal Public Sector Labour Relations Act
- Canada Labour Code, Part II
- Planning, organizing and prioritizing concurrent demands and multiple projects to meet client expectations, priorities, and deadlines.
- Consistently providing professional services and advice in order to meet clients’ needs and expectations while respecting organizational and policy requirements.
- Applying analytical skills on complex cases and in developing/recommending solutions/options/strategies on a variety of human resources facets.
- Demonstrating Integrity and Respect - Civility and Well-Being.

- Working Effectively with Others—Relationships and Trust Building.

- Knowledge and experience in occupational health and safety.

- Possess or eligible to obtain secret security clearance.
