We are excited to share that Andaz Ottawa has an opportunity for people who love helping people. The primary purpose of the Front Desk Host is to contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the front desk to give the best guest experience.
Responsibilities- Meet and greet guests and assist with registrations, check‑in, check‑out, and other benefits related to the World of Hyatt.
- Ensure the strict control of room keys.
- Ensure that all company minimum brand standards have been implemented.
- Prepare welcome cards and keys for arrival, serve wine and other welcome beverages during check‑in.
- Maintain accurate knowledge of the hotels and the tourism in the city/country.
- Report lost and found items.
- Work closely with other front office personnel in a supportive and flexible manner, focusing on the overall success of the hotel and the satisfaction of hotel guests.
- Verify arrival and departure details and arrange luggage handling, transportation, and other services requested by guests.
- Ensure that guest history records are accurately maintained and all repeat guests are pre‑registered.
- Be well‑versed in hotel technology systems to facilitate smooth check‑in and check‑out experiences for our guests.
- Ensure that all hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to financial record‑keeping, money handling and licensing are adhered to, including the timely and accurate reporting of financial information.
- Maintain high standards of personal presentation and grooming.
- A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast‑paced environment.
- Previous front desk experience and a thorough understanding of the hotel industry will be preferred.
- Hours are flexible; scheduled days and times may vary based on need. Employees may be required to work varying schedules including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
