As a member of the Food & Beverage team, this position reports to the hotel General Manager and will manage the outlet as an independent profit centre, ensuring maximum guest satisfaction while operating within budget and supporting financial success.

What is expected of me in this role? Administration
  • To prepare and update the bar’s operations manuals.
  • To conduct pre‑shift briefings and regular communication meetings, ensuring they are effective and conducted as necessary.
  • Ensure efficient communication between team colleagues and other departments of the hotel.
Customer Service
  • To ensure that all colleagues at the bar provide exceptional guest service at all times.
  • To handle all guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to make sure problems are resolved satisfactorily.
Financial
  • To ensure that the monthly forecasted food and beverage revenues are achieved and to proactively manage all costs.
  • To maximize colleague productivity through the use of multi‑skilling, multi‑tasking and flexible scheduling in order to meet the financial goals of the outlet as well as the expectations of the guests.
  • To assist in the maintenance of the outlet point‑of‑sales system.
  • To ensure that all sales are properly recorded, following prescribed procedures for issuing, voiding or correcting outlet checks.
  • To oversee the proper use and security of floats and follow necessary procedures.
  • To assist in the inventory management and ongoing maintenance of hotel operating equipment and other assets, including establishing par stocks, equipment care and maintenance and inventory taking as required.
Marketing
  • To constantly evaluate local, national and international market trends, vendors and other hotel/restaurant operations to make sure that the hotel’s own operations remain competitive and cutting edge.
  • To assist in the implementation (where appropriate) of marketing programs, including frequent‑dining programs.
Health and Safety
  • To ensure that employees follow all hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to fire and hazard safety, security and updated certifications.
Operational
  • To establish and oversee consistent implementation of service standards and train colleagues as necessary.
  • Hire, train, empower, coach/counsel, performance reviews and develop colleagues within the team.
  • Scheduling & payroll
  • To develop an outstanding beverage selection that is competitive in the local marketplace.
  • To work closely with the Chef on the food menu’s and create various events during the year.
  • To work with the Engineering and Housekeeping Manager to ensure that the outlet is clean, properly maintained and cared for.
Working Conditions
  • While performing the duties of this job, the colleague is regularly required to sit; stand; bend; walk; reach, pull, use hands or finger; or feel objects, tools or controls; may need to lift boxes (up to 30 lbs).
  • Carries out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • As the bar operating timing are from 5 pm until midnight, evening shifts and weekends are required for this role.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a senior role in food and beverage with proven leadership skills.
  • Hotel/Hospitality degree is an asset.
  • Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, proven track record in high volume concept, effective communicator, proven ability to provide exceptional customer service and improve the bottom line.
  • Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English - Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills.
