Position: Temporary Full-Time Medical Billing Clerk (Vacant)
Description
Join our dynamic team at the University of Ottawa Medical Associates (UMA) in the position of Temporary Full-Time Medical Billing Clerk at our UMA Billing Office in Nepean. The clerk will provide support and utilize accounting software for outpatient and RAMQ billing.
Responsibilities

Process RAMQ and Outpatient billing on behalf of the partners of UMACommunicates with stakeholders and responds to inquiriesGenerates reports as requestedCorrecting claim errors and resubmitting claimsMaintains accurate records of all receivables, invoices, supporting documentation and statements in accordance with office records retention policies and practicesQualifications
1-2 years recent related experience in medical billing, preferably in a hospital settingPost-secondary or certificate in medical terminology from a recognized educational institution is preferredKnowledge of RAMQ and Third-Party billingIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft suite is an assetMeticulous attention to detail;Excellent communication skills – able to clearly express self to patients and provide specific instructions;Excellent interpersonal skills;Proficiency in speaking and comprehending both English and French preferred.Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills to coordinate multiple activities;Good judgment; able to identify when to seek supervisor’s assistance or advice;Strong problem-solving abilities;Able to navigate and populate electronic databases;Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information;Initiative, tact, dedication, diplomacy and positive attitude;Highly dependable and thorough;Ability to work well with minimal supervision.Job Benefits
