Position: Social Worker II (Bilingual) (RFT 1.0 FTE)
Duties
:
Provide direct support, therapy, education, and counseling to veterans, couples, and families.Complete timely, comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessmentsDevelop and lead groups at clinic and outreach sites.Liaise with community agencies and service providersParticipate in teaching, student supervision, and Social Work meetings.Deliver education to stakeholders (. VAC Offices).Design individualized treatment plan with team.Maintain contact with VAC counsellors, RCMP, and DND for treatment planning.Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders.Work with OSI Clinic network under National Centre leadership.Participate in research, program evaluation, and committee work.Work in a manner that is in compliance with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies and procedures of The Royal.Ensure a work environment that is conducive to the Royal’s Anti-Racism, Discrimination and Harassment-Free Workplace policy.Qualifications:Master’s degree in Social Work.Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Social Worker providing services in Mental Health.Training in evidence-based therapies for PTSD, depression, anxiety disorders and knowledge of substance misuse required (PE, CPT, EMDR, CBT, BA, MBSR).Knowledge of mental health best practices, community services, and crisis response.Experience working in an interprofessional service delivery model is mandatory.Experience with assessment of police, veterans and/or Canadian forces members with operational stress injuries including anxiety, mood, and substance use is an asset.Experience working with families and couples is required.Training in EFT is an asset.Experience in group work is required.Sensitivity to the unique needs of military/police services personnel who are experiencing service related mental health problems.High level of knowledge, skill and confidence in using electronic health record systems for clinical documentation and navigation.Knowledge of psychiatric rehabilitation principles and practices.Excellent leadership and communication skills and ability to establish and maintain good working relations.Commitment to Continuous Quality Improvement, Best Practices and Team Work.Effective mentoring and clinical supervision skills to support both the academic role and the clinical practice of other team members.Experience providing clinical services via telemedicine or other clinical platforms.Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle.English level A- is mandatory in oral comprehension, expression, reading, and writing. French level A- is mandatory in oral expression and oral comprehension.Salary Range: 44.67 to 57.90 per hour
