Financial Accountant

Our dynamic client is seeking a Financial Accountant for a 10-month contract with strong potential for extension to a permanent role. Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Accountant ensures accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting in a fast-paced software/SaaS environment. Acting as both a technical expert and business advisor, you will work closely with senior leadership to analyze data, validate information, and guide business decisions.

Main responsibilities:

• Lead month-end and year-end financial close, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Manage revenue accounting for software/SaaS contracts in line with IFRS 15
• Support audits, statutory reporting, and tax/compliance submissions
• Maintain the general ledger, AP/AR, and intercompany reconciliations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate contracts, billing, and revenue
• Drive process improvements, system optimization, and enhanced reporting/analytics
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, governance, and financial standards

The main qualifications for this role include:

• Formal accounting education
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls
• Solid technical knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 15
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
• Proficiency in Excel

• CPA or ACCA designation is an asset
• Experience in Public Accounting, SaaS, or High-Tech industry
