We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead a new team that mobilizes data and systems to optimize market engagement, investment management, value creation, and capital management. The successful candidate will have 10+ years of experience in private equity or venture capital and a strong understanding of the Canadian PE ecosystem, equity program governance, portfolio performance, and equity technology platforms.
WhatYou Will Be Doing
- Accountable for the capital model, including capital flows, portfolio allocations, and performance benchmarking.
- Embed data‑driven methodologies to enhance sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio value creation.
- Collaborate with Risk to align governance and portfolio construction with strategy, KPIs, and risk management.
- Deliver actionable insights through forecasting and reporting to track capital effectiveness and value creation.
- Lead the equity program’s technology strategy and long‑term roadmap; leverage data and AI capabilities for prospect identification and lifecycle management.
- Provide senior leadership with advanced forecasting, scenario modeling, and portfolio‑level reporting.
- Coordinate ongoing assessment and valuation of investments and support portfolio growth strategies.
- Oversee team performance and career development, fostering a culture of learning and mentorship.
- Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Leadership experience with a strategic orientation and performance focus in data, analytics, AI transformations, or strategic finance within investment management, private equity, or corporate strategy.
- Strategic mindset with strong communication and collaboration skills to engage senior leadership and investor counter parties.
- Experience building or overseeing investment software platforms to support decision‑making.
- Strong understanding of priority sectors driving Canada’s future prosperity and international competitiveness.
- Ability to bridge communications between technical and investment teams.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with autonomy and strategic vision.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in private equity, corporate or venture capital investing, with a track record of portfolio performance accountability, analytics, and systems innovation.
- Experience in ongoing assessment and valuation of investee companies and governance/financial investor engagements.
- Active industry network relevant to the team’s mandate (pension funds, private equity, family offices, etc.).
