Position: Operations Officer II - 57026
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Operations Officer II to join our Wealth Operations team in Ottawa. This is a 100% back-office role focused on the accurate processing of various Retirement Income Fund (RIF) requests, including manual requests, account application updates, and complex calculations. This is a 6-month contract with a strong possibility of extension or permanent conversion based on performance and business needs.

It is an excellent opportunity for professionals or recent graduates to gain experience within a premier financial institution.

Work Location:

100% Onsite (5 days per week) at Ottawa, ON.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday, core business hours (37.5 hours per week).

ASAP.

As an Operations Officer II, you will be responsible for executing financial transactions accurately and on time while adhering to strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs). You will handle various RIF-related tasks, such as processing New Account Application Form (NAAF) updates and LIF maximum amount calculations. This role requires high technical comfort with Excel-based tools and the ability to work collaboratively within a team of 11 members in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
Transaction Processing & Operational Support

Accurate Execution:
Perform general to specialized transactions, including RIF basic manual requests and NAAF update requests, ensuring compliance with established procedures.

Calculations:
Conduct precise LIF maximum amount calculations and other financial data adjustments.

SLA Adherence:
Prioritize and manage your workload to meet productivity and quality targets within defined Service Level Agreements.

Issue Resolution:
Identify and escalate processing or operational issues based on a solid understanding of the underlying cause, connecting with partners to facilitate resolution.

Relationship Management & Quality Control

Stakeholder Support:
Support internal partners with incoming transactions, validating information, and performing adjustments within your authority levels.

Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to enhance service delivery and support the implementation of process improvement initiatives.

Documentation:
Ensure all data entry and documentation are accurate and reflect current regulatory and internal guidelines.

Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements

Technical

Skills:

High proficiency in MS Excel with the ability to confidently run and manage EUCs (Excel-based macros).

Experience:

2–4 years of professional experience in an operations or administrative role. (Recent graduates with strong co-op or internship experience are encouraged to apply).

Attention to Detail:
Meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in data entry.

Adaptability: A quick learner who takes initiative and can adapt to changing workloads and procedures.

Soft Skills:

Exceptional team-player attitude and strong time-management skills.

Education:

A University degree is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience within a banking or financial institution.

Knowledge of Retirement Income Fund (RIF) products.

Familiarity with IBM/Kyndryl systems.
