Growcer is the world’s largest provider of indoor modular vertical farm solutions working with communities and organizations across North America. Recently we acquired Freight Farms bringing together two category leaders to expand our footprint, deepen our expertise, and strengthen the support network available to our customers.

By partnering with municipalities, First Nation and Indigenous communities, Tribal Nations and other community organizations in Canada and the USA we empower year‑round sustainable food production and strengthen food sovereignty. To date we have launched more than 120 Growcer projects. Our holistic approach includes planning solutions, food infrastructure, commissioning support, training programs, capacity‑building programs (such as our popular Rootcamp) and ongoing support services enabling communities to achieve lasting impact.

Growcer’s work has been recognized with awards including Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas and the Entrepreneurs Organization and was featured on Season 13 of CBC’s Dragons Den.

Your primary responsibility will be to support day‑to‑day finance operations for the company and its subsidiaries – owning accounts payable/receivable, bank and credit card reconciliations and employee expense processing. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager and working closely with the Intermediate Company Accountant, this role will play a vital role within the organization and advance Growcer’s financial efficiency.

As the finance team is small, the expectation of this role will be to support the Growcer team in a variety of tasks relating to finance, responding to financial requests from across the organization and general administration. This individual must be meticulous with a strong attention to detail to underpin the finance function during a phase of accelerated growth for the organization.

The Growcer recently received funding to support a nine‑month contract through the Science Horizons program. The Science Horizons program creates opportunities for interns to work with employers in the environmental science, technology, engineering and mathematics sectors.
