About the OpportunityHeritage Grade is seeking a Proposal / Qualification / Report Writer to support business development, project pursuits, and technical documentation.
This role will focus on preparing:
- Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
- Requests for Qualifications (RFQs)
- Technical reports and assessments
- Capability statements
- Grant and heritage documentation
- Internal technical documentation
You will collaborate closely with project managers, estimators, conservators, and senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities Proposal & Qualification Writing- Coordinate, prepare, edit, and submit RFQ/RFP responses and qualification packages.
- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and addenda to identify requirements and submission criteria.
- Develop clear, compelling narratives demonstrating Heritage Grade’s expertise, project experience, and technical capabilities.
- Maintain proposal templates, project profiles, resumes, and supporting documentation databases.
- Assist in preparing technical reports, condition assessments, conservation documentation, and project summaries.
- Compile technical information from multiple stakeholders into cohesive professional documents.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity across all written materials.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, architects, conservators, and estimators to gather technical input.
- Participate in internal strategy meetings for project pursuits.
- Track submission deadlines and ensure timely delivery of documentation.
- Improve proposal processes, templates, and document management systems.
- Support marketing collateral, presentations, and capability materials.
- Maintain consistency with company branding and technical standards.
Preferred:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in English, Communications, Marketing, Business, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field
- Equivalent industry experience will be considered
Preferred (but not mandatory):
- Proposal writing in construction, engineering, architecture, or restoration industry
- Technical writing or report preparation
- Experience with government or institutional projects
- Heritage, conservation, or restoration sector exposure is a strong asset.
- Excellent technical and professional writing skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational ability
- Ability to understand technical drawings/specifications (preferred)
- Time management skills for multiple concurrent deadlines
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Professional editing and proofreading capability
- Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- PDF editing software (Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam preferred)
- Document management platforms (SharePoint, Teams, Procore, etc.)
- Experience with layout/design tools is an asset.
