JOB SUMMARY

This job is exclusively for Coop Students who are enrolled in a recognized post-secondary co-operative education program.

The Transit Fleet and Facilities Maintenance team provides safe, reliable, efficient, timely and cost-effective transit vehicle maintenance services to support federally regulated transit services within the City.

You provide design and engineering assistance/support to transit fleet engineers and technicians.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Enrolment in a recognized co-operative engineering program; 3rd year Mechanical Engineering student preferred.

No experience required

KNOWLEDGE

Vehicle systems and sub-systems

Analytical and research techniques

Computer software applications such as MS Office Suite and drafting software

Maintenance information management systems

Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers.

COMPETENCIES,

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Able to conduct research, sort and categorize findings

Able to analyze information and draw conclusions

Written and verbal communication skills to write reports and present information in a clear and direct manner

Able to use common office computer applications including spreadsheets and Maintenance information management systems

Able to use drafting software such as Micro Station or Solid Works

Attentive to detail
