Working as part of a dynamic multi‑disciplinary team, the candidate will oversee configuration management (CM) processes and maintain configuration records for systems, hardware, and software configuration items. The role leads significant process improvements, manages configuration change procedures, and ensures engineering changes are identified, assessed, authorized, and implemented across multiple communication system projects.

Harris configuration and engineering change management processes. - Maintain CM process documentation.
- Write configuration management plans for engineering projects.
- Identify process improvements, develop CM strategies, and lead change initiatives.
- Identify and evaluate tools to support efficient configuration management across the business unit.
- Coordinate the development and release of engineering baselines.
- Ensure configuration data is recorded, kept up to date, and compliant with applicable standards.
- Conduct internal audits to identify CM strengths and weaknesses and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure thorough identification and assessment of engineering changes.
- Convene change review boards, issue agendas, and maintain a record of decisions.
- Work with change owners/assignees to prepare implementation plans for authorized changes.
- Collaborate with Quality Control to resolve configuration issues identified during audits.
- Maintain a system of record to track implementation status and progress of authorized changes.
- Report CM metrics to management.
- Provide guidance and training to engineers and technical staff on CM procedures.
- Coordinate CM activities with customers and subcontractors.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field and at least 6 years of prior relevant experience.
- Graduate Degree and at least 4 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, at least 10 years of related experience.
- Broad knowledge of project management and systems engineering processes.
- Experience in CM for both hardware and software.
- Knowledge of tools that support effective CM.
- Hands‑on experience in engineering change management.
- Planning, organizing and information management skills.
- Experience leading diverse teams.
- Able to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience managing CM for complex defense projects.
- Experience automating CM monitoring processes.
- Professional certification in CM (e.g., INCOSE, ITIL).
- Eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada "Reliability" status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.
- Eligible to meet U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements.
