YourKey Responsibilities
- Apply Building and Fire Codes to new building designs as well as to existing buildings and renovations.
- Review work prepared by others for typical projects and provide technical mentorship to a growing team of Code Consultants.
- Prepare Code reports and other technical communication for more complicated projects.
- Support internal and external clients by advising on the application of Codes and standards.
- Coordinate project teams including other staff, contractors, and other technical disciplines for successful project delivery.
- Investigate, advise, and solve unusual design and Code problems.
- Prepare project proposals and liaise with clients to understand their needs and identify new opportunities.
- Identify new clients and opportunities to expand Code Consulting services.
- Manage projects and be the primary client contact.
- Ability to conduct business development.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and persuasively.
- Strong technical skills and strong knowledge of Building and Fire Codes and related standards;
Ontario and National Code knowledge is preferred. - Demonstrated ability to manage projects and communicate with clients, authorities and contractors.
- Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Degree in Engineering or Architecture required.
- Minimum 6 years Code Consulting experience preferred.
