Position Title:

Salary & Benefits: $125,000-$135,000 plus bonus, RRSP matching program, 3 weeks vacation' & 3 personal days

With operations in Ottawa and Eastern Canada and an aggressive 5-year growth plan, they are now seeking Electrical Engineers to help build their team of the future.

The Electrical Engineer supports in the design, coordination, and execution of projects within their area of specialization. This role requires technical competence, collaboration with internal and external teams, and the ability to deliver compliant, high-quality designs.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Design & Technical Execution

  • Develop electrical system designs (power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, communication, and control systems) in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Provide technical input and markups to support the drafting team in preparing detailed electrical drawings.
  • Prepare electrical specifications, load calculations, single-line diagrams, and technical reports to support design deliverables.
  • Conduct site visits and field surveys to gather data, assess existing conditions, and validate the applicability of proposed designs.
Project Coordination
  • Collaborate with architects, structural, mechanical, and other engineering disciplines to ensure fully integrated electrical designs.
  • Participate in project meetings with internal teams, clients, and external consultants to communicate design progress and resolve technical issues.
  • Assist with the preparation of project proposals, schedules, and cost estimates for electrical engineering scope.
Documentation & Quality Control
  • Review electrical design documents, drawings, and specifications for accuracy, clarity, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Support quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reviews of electrical deliverables to maintain consistency and reliability.
  • Perform drawing reviews and provide revisions as needed to address design changes or client feedback.
  • Take professional responsibility for electrical designs by stamping and sealing project documents when acting as Engineer of Record (EOR).
Construction Administration
  • Conduct field reviews to verify electrical installations comply with design intent, codes, and standards.
  • Respond to contractor inquiries and provide technical clarifications during the construction phase.
  • Review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs to ensure alignment with the design.
  • Provide technical assistance, issue site instructions, and support project close-out activities.
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Electrical Engineering and possess a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation. The candidate will have a minimum of five years of relevant industry experience and demonstrate the ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects and tasks effectively. Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is essential, along with a strong working knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and Ontario Building Code.

Familiarity with ETAP or Easy Power is considered an advantage. The candidate should have advanced skills in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and Teams, and exhibit a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and discretion when handling confidential information. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, work independently or collaboratively as part of a team, and apply excellent interpersonal and organizational skills is required.

Bilingualism in French and English is highly desirable.

  • Advanced proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD, with hands-on experience in ETAP or Easy Power for power system analysis.
  • Deep knowledge of Ontario Electrical Safety Code and Ontario Building Code, with a demonstrated ability to apply standards accurately in practical designs.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including fluency in French and English, coupled with strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
