Overview
National Research Council Canada is seeking an Autonomous Systems Integrator to support the Aerospace Research Centre in integrating novel technologies into aircraft. The role advances fixed‑wing autonomy, team‑based mission capabilities, and Canadian commercialization opportunities.
Responsibilities- Lead research and development of fixed‑wing autonomy technologies, including advanced teaming missions, air launch, and communications relay.
- Integrate and test portions of the existing autonomy stack on new fixed‑wing platforms.
- Collaborate with rotorcraft and fixed‑wing flight controls experts to develop full autonomy system capabilities.
- Manage development of advanced autonomy, teaming, and mission system capabilities for crewed and large uncrewed platforms.
- Coordinate with teams to optimize resources, achieve a collaborative force multiplication effect, and support technology readiness for operational deployment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Systems, Aerospace, Mechanical, Software, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Significant experience designing, integrating, and troubleshooting autonomous systems aboard aircraft.
- Hands‑on software development experience in MATLAB, Python, C, and C++.
- Project management experience supporting multidisciplinary teams from initiation to closure.
- Experience with airworthiness certification documentation is an asset.
- Preferred experience with UAVs and fixed‑wing control systems.
- Secret clearance required; applicants must have lived in Canada for the required period.
