Description

Skyworks is seeking an RF Test Engineering Co-Op for its Automation Solutions team in Ottawa, Ontario. As a co-op student on our team, you’ll take part in a dynamic business unit-wide operation with an opportunity to impact and enhance the Skyworks Product Realization Process. You’ll learn about RF measurements and industry standards for high-demand WiFi products while you experience a fast-paced, challenging, and supportive environment.

This position is a 12-month placement starting in January 2026 and running through December 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Perform RF and digital measurements in lab environments.
  • Develop and verify test procedures and hardware setups.
  • Analyze test results and improve test yield rates.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams during PRP phases.
  • Support production test solution development and integration.
  • Required Experience and Skills

    Educational Background

  • Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • 3rd or 4th year of undergraduate studies or enrolled in a Graduate Program.
  • Technical Skills

  • RF fundamentals:
    Understanding of RF transmitter power, receiver sensitivity, impedance matching, and signal integrity.
  • Digital testing:
    Familiarity with high-speed digital circuits, firmware flashing, and digital signal processors (DSPs).
  • Lab instrumentation:
    Experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Soldering and PCB troubleshooting:
    Ability to diagnose and repair circuit boards, including hands-on soldering.
  • Programming:
    Knowledge of scripting languages e.g., LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB.
  • Test automation:
    Exposure to automated test systems and software development for test equipment.
  • Desired Experience and Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Availability for a full-time 12-month position.
  • In-Officepresence 5 days a week required.
