Our Exciting OpportunityYou will be a critical member of our Hardware Development team in Ottawa, supporting Ericsson with material expertise across a wide range of 5G Macro, AAS and Indoor products within Radio Development. The material function handles technical requirements, tests and design verification for plastics, metals, thermal interface materials, surface treatments and more. The role allows you to participate in pre‑development and pre‑studies, as well as coordinated product development projects with Ericsson and world‑leading global subcontractors and partners.
You will keep close contact with standardization organisations and material test institutes, and work closely with the Material Technology Team in Kista, Sweden.

- Support the materials team at technical alignment meetings.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Strong knowledge in plastics and metals and related manufacturing methods.
- Strong knowledge in coatings, surface treatments and standardised material tests.
- Strong knowledge of thermal interface materials and other composite materials, and thermal/thermo‑mechanical simulation methods.
- Excellent written and oral communication (English).
- Progression towards MSc in Engineering, Physics or Chemistry as it applies to material technology or related fields; preferably master’s students.
- Previous mechanical design work experience would be beneficial.
- An understanding of surface treatment and mechanical design.
- An understanding of test methods related to material properties.
- Experience with in the material area from other manufacturing industries is an advantage.
- Keen interest and curiosity in developing the next generation telecom products.
- 2.7+ GPA or equivalent; upload an unofficial copy of your transcript.
- Actively enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or master’s program on a full‑time basis at a four‑year college or university at the time of the co‑op.
- Be available to work 40 hours per week.

The salary range for this position is:
- Bachelors: $25.5 - $34.5
- Masters: $37
