- Provide long term occasional teaching coverage for the assigned school to cover a teacher on leave.
- Must be in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers.

- Not currently employed by the OCSB; if so, will need to submit a negative PRC for the Vulnerable Sector dated within the last six months.
The salary of each teacher shall be determined in accordance with Article 32 of the OECTA Collective Agreement. Effective September 1, 2025, teacher salaries will range from $51,234.00 to $.

Selection Process- The school board shall identify the three most senior applicants to the LTO assignment posting who are available for the assignment and hold the required qualifications.
- An Occasional Teacher shall be considered available if they have not already been assigned to another LTO position during the term.
- Each of the three most senior applicants shall be contacted and asked to confirm that they wish to be considered. If any decline, the board shall contact the next most senior qualified applicant, ensuring that five applicants are considered.
- If fewer than three qualified applicants apply, the board shall select the successful applicant from the qualified applicants.
- If no qualified occasional teachers apply or all decline, the board may hire an external qualified teacher not on the roster to fill the assignment.
- An external qualified teacher not currently on the OT roster with the OCSB must first pass the OT interview process.
- AI may be utilized throughout the selection and recruitment process.
