Overview

Join to apply for the OCDSB Elementary Occasional Teachers List role at Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB).

Occasional Teachers replace short term absences in our schools and are an integral part of our district.

• Must be in good standing or pending certification with the Ontario College of Teachers as of October 31, 2025.
• Must hold a minimum of one Basic Qualification of either Primary, Junior or Intermediate.

All applications must be submitted through Apply to Education.

Education information to include as much detail as possible in your Apply to Education profile as this information will be used for the initial screening process, including:

• Personal contact information
• Teachable subjects including those you are formally qualified with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT)
• Language skills
• Teaching experience including start and end dates
• Education history, lived experiences, etc.

Ensure your OCT number is entered in the Qualifications page of your Apply to Education portfolio. Additional documents such as teaching qualifications/licenses, diplomas/certificates, practicum reports, teaching evaluations, and reference letters are optional. Applyto Education will send an email acknowledgement confirming receipt of your application to this competition.

Interviews We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. The OCDSB will contact candidates using the email addresses listed on their Apply to Education portfolios. Following the closure of this competition (October 30, 2025), candidates that are selected for an interview will receive an email in November 2025. Interviews are expected to take place in November 2025.
