South-East Ottawa Community Health Centre (SEOCHC) provides health, social services and community development to residents living in our neighbourhoods. We are seeking Registered Early Childhood Educators to deliver high-quality preschool programs (indoors and outdoors) at various locations in the absence of permanent staff. (Mornings, Monday to Saturday)
Under the supervision of the Early Years/ Early ON coordinator, the Casual Registered Early Childhood Educator will be responsible for working in a manner that preserves confidentiality, seeks to minimize risk for the parents, caregivers, and children, and incorporates and strengthens collaborative and multi-disciplinary teamwork.
Qualifications:
- Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree preferred
- Early Childhood Education Students will be considered
- All Candidates must be registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators upon completion of receiving an Early Childhood Education Diploma
- 3-5 years of prior experience working with young children in a group setting.
- Must be flexible and a team player willing to occasionally work in summer, holidays and Saturdays
- Experience working in Community Services an asset
- Awareness of community resources
- Good organizational skills
- Sensitive to issues of low-income, cultural and family diversity, and the social determinants of health
- Knowledge of HDLH (How does learning happen)
- Valid First-Aid and CPR certificate
- Health and Safety training
- Excellent English Skills, French, Arabic, or Somali are an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A criminal record check for the vulnerable sector is required
- Valid Driver’s license (use of car essential)
Wages: $27.26 – 32.06/hour depending on experience + 4% in lieu of benefits
