The at the invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the , at the level of Assistant Professor with research programs focused on the regulation of chromatin/chromosome structure and function, with implications for understanding disease etiology and progression. The search committee will consider candidates with demonstrated expertise in a broad range of research areas, including but not limited to: transcriptional regulation, epigenetic regulation, cell cycle regulation, cancer biology, DNA damage response, telomere dynamics, and genome editing.

The call is open to researchers working in diverse model systems and experimental approaches (e.g., model organisms, stem cell-based models, genome screening, single cell approaches, molecular recording etc.). If appropriate, the successful applicant will be considered for membership in the Ottawa Institute of Systems Biology.

Title of the position: Assistant Professor. The higher rank of Associate Professor will only be considered should the successful candidate possess an appropriate level of experience and commensurate achievements and according to budgetary approval.

    Wage

    Salary scale for an assistant professor starts at $99,377 (as of May 1, 2025).

    Note:

    salary for higher ranks is commensurate according to rank and experience.

    Skills requirements:

  • Education: PhD in a relevant discipline.
  • Work experience: Demonstrate excellence in research, a solid publication record, a history of collaboration.

    Demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in training and education at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

    Excellent communication skills in English. Passive (or active) knowledge of one’s second official language (French or English) is a requirement for tenure. English-French bilingualism is an asset.
