Dental Assisting Instructor part-time/sessional
About the Role
Willis College is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant who is interested in teaching and mentoring future professionals. This is a hybrid instructional role, combining online teaching with scheduled on‑campus practical instruction throughout the academic year. You will deliver approved curriculum, support student learning, and participate in hands‑on skills instruction during designated on‑campus teaching weeks. This role is ideal for a Dental Assistant who enjoys education, mentoring, and contributing to student success in a structured and supported environment.
Key Responsibilities Instruction & Student Support- Deliver approved curriculum through online and in‑person instruction
- Facilitate lectures, demonstrations, and guided practice aligned with learning outcomes
- Clearly communicate course expectations, assessments, and attendance requirements
- Grade assignments, tests, and exams in a timely manner
- Support student learning and refer students for additional assistance when needed
- Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
- Demonstrate and evaluate clinical, lab, and radiography skills
- Support students during hands‑on skill development
- Ensure clinic and lab spaces are prepared for instructional use
- Participate in sterilization and maintenance of clinical areas
- Record attendance and grades using the college’s systems (Nova/Moodle)
- Communicate academic concerns to the Program Coordinator or Campus Director
- Participate in faculty meetings, PD days, and required training
- Support practicum follow‑ups with host dental offices in collaboration with the Program Coordinator
- Online Instruction:
Scheduled weekday mornings during designated teaching weeks - On‑Campus Instruction:
Two scheduled practical blocks per year (full‑time weeks) - Non‑Teaching Periods:
Built‑in breaks during the academic year
A detailed academic calendar will be provided in advance.
Qualifications Required- NDAEB Certification
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Dental Assistant
- Eligible to meet Private Career Colleges Act (PCCA) requirements
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work with diverse adult learners
- Teaching, mentoring, or precepting experience
- ODAA membership (or willingness to obtain)
Immunization records, letters of reference, and a criminal record check will be required prior to start date.

Pay: CA $33.00 per hour
