GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

The teacher collaborates in the effective operation of a Catholic education program by supporting the goals and spirit of Catholic education in general and the school programs in particular; ensuring an effective instructional program; continuing in professional growth; encouraging student educational growth.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

A teacher is expected to have competencies in the following major areas:

II. INSTRUCTIONAL PROCESS
  • Demonstrates evidence of prior planning and preparation

  • Adjusts curriculum and instruction to provide for individual differences
  • Demonstrates ability to motivate students
  • Maintains an atmosphere conducive to learning in both the physical environment and the learning atmosphere
  • Knows and uses technology appropriately in and during instruction
  • Demonstrates an understanding in delivering the curriculum using the Rigor, Relevance and Relationship Framework.
III. INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS
  • Works cooperatively with administration
  • Works positively with colleagues, support staff, and parish staff
  • Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations with students
  • Maintains positive interpersonal relations with parents
IV. PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver engaging, student-centered instruction in Creative Photography, Intro to Broadcast Media, Broadcast Media and Social Media Marketing.
  • Design and implement assessments that support mastery through project-based and authentic learning experiences.
  • Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including those with varied academic needs and learning differences.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity and critical thinking.
  • Provide academic support outside of class and maintain open communication with students and families.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional practices and engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Fulfill assigned supervision duties and contribute to a safe, respectful school environment.
V. PROFESSIONAL GROWTH
  • Keeps abreast of developments in curriculum and methodology
  • Interacts with colleagues to further professional growth
  • Takes advantage of opportunities for professional improvement
  • Completes necessary work toward obtaining and/or maintaining a valid teaching license.

Salary Range

$45,000-$80,000/annual (Will be prorated)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. Master’s Degree with 3 to 5 years of experience in a school setting preferred.
  • Educational and/or professional background in teaching high school Creative Media courses such as Graphic Design, Creative Photography, Intro to Broadcast Media, Broadcast Media I, Broadcast Media II, Digital Storytelling and Live streaming.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, talk, reach, sit, hear, handle, and perform repetitive motions of the hands/wrists. Teachers must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods. May need to climb stairs and lift, carry, push and/or pull items up to 50 pounds. Must be able to respond effectively to, and lead the class in emergency situations.

WORKING

ENVIRONMENT

Work is usually performed in a classroom setting within the time frame established by the Grade School Dean. Employee is occasionally required to attend evening meetings and may oversee field trips and other special events.

SUPERVISION

Exercises working supervision over students, Educational Assistants and volunteers, as necessary.
